The City of Albany via Mayor Kathy Sheehan’s 2016 Budget is proposing to provide one free garbage pick-up for residences, but will charge $15 per month for each additional unit in 2-4 unit properties.
This effects me being a landlord personally because I have to pass that fee along to all my tenants. We have been losing many renters to neighboring cities/towns. We need to have incentives for investment and for renters not create more fee’s to help the Mayor figure out how to deal with her budget shortfalls. I feel that we pay very high property taxes and that garbage pickup should be free.
